Not too sure. I first release of Skype for Business looks more of a cosmetic change (re-skin) of the current Lync interface. I would hope for more functional changes, such as this one, on the next release.

I've got Blync 3.0 installed and when I click on Connect, it changes to Connecting and then just goes back to Connect. No error message and no Blync functionality. Running Lync 2013 Server. This seems to have randomly resolved itself. Not sure what the root cause was.

I noticed that the Mac client does not view a Lync meeting as "On a call" and therefore does not flash like it does on the Windows Client.

Can you run Blync for mac while beeing connected via edgeserver? Or does it require direct connection with the frontends?

Can Blync for Mac be used without Lync/Skype for Business?
I have a home office and I want to be able to set light colors manually for when I shouldn't be interrupted by my family. (Away, Available, Busy, On Phone, Do Not Disturb)

Hi EWTHeckman,
Yes - Blync for Mac can be run in manual mode and does not require Lync/SfB to operate.

I just installed the software. Manual mode is nothing more than on or off, which is not very useful or worth the cost. Are there plans to support various statuses as I listed?
Suggestion: Being able to see and set the status from the menu bar in manual mode would be very easy to use.

Hi EWTHeckman,
In Manual mode, you should be able to select a few different colors representing the various statuses in manual mode. (Red - Busy, Green - Available, Yellow - Away etc..).
Having said that, we are releasing a new version of Blynclight for Mac next month (December 2015) which allows you to set the status of the Blynclight from the menu bar.
I will post a link here once it comes available.

Okay. For some reason I was thinking along the lines of "set up a description and color, then select from the defined statuses." For some reason the fact that you can set the color (albeit, without a description to remind me) just didn't click.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting this set up and the update.

We are currently having an issue with our Blynclights on Mac since upgrading to El Capitan, we keep getting "Failed to get Oauthtoken" and they won't connect to the Lync server.
Is this something that we are doing wrong? It was working fine on Mavericks prior to the upgrade.
