I got a blync light to test it with Lync, but immediately i had the idea to use it to show Icinga/Nagios status. The main difficulty is a driver/api that can be used in Linux. Any hints or help appreciated

Hi Peter, Until an actual Linux driver for Blync is released, the Web Service wrapper I created here might help. What you can do is: 1. Connect the Blync light to a Windows machine 2. Install the Web Service on this Windows machine 3. Configure Incinga/Nagios to call the Web Service from your Linux machine to make the Blync light show the color matching the Incinga/Nagios status. I'm not sure if Incinga/Nagios can call the web service directly but the web service can be called from within a Linux shell or Perl script. Then its just a matter of having Incinga/Nagios call the Linux shell or Perl script on whenever there is a status change. This might do the trick. Best Regards, Emmanuel

I have the Blync light "connected" to our WhatsUp Gold. I used eman's Web Service Wrapper to control the lights on an outage. Works like a charm
